It's 9.30pm Friday night and I am getting my sketchbook up to date for Monday and am about to stick some masterplan sketches in so I thought I would put them on here - really want to see what they look like, as I am not the worlds best sketcher I'm now looking to other media to present my ideas, these were sketched and then I applied photoshop, first attempt so I know they'll improve.

I really have to get to grips with sketching and rendering otherwise it's going to let me down. My intentions are to sketch every day for 30 mins, but best laid plans and all that ........we'll see!!!

It was the strangest survey I have ever had to do, - survey more or less empty space, not complaining as I had less to do in a very busy week, but what wouldn't I have given for the odd tree! My 100 x 120 metre site has only a 12m wide and 30m long strip of a private garden, two goal posts, one floodlight and an electricity box, consequently my A1 sheet looked empty. I felt such a fraud hanging it up as it looked like I hadn't bothered with the project. What do you say about empty space that has no views in only out? Well the grass elicited a few words and I made sure the key was comprehensive and coloured but the paper still looked empty - I have ideas as to how I can make it look more exciting and interesting (can you make a survey look exciting?) and have written a list this am so will sort this once Tom's work is finished, am not presenting it to external examiners like it is!
My site, pic shows football goalpost, strip of garden (behind fence) and empty space! Now I am going to have to go knocking on the occupant/s door of the private garden to survey their 10 metre strip - what fun but at least it gives me something more to write!
Last week I managed to finish the 50% of work that Tom Turners project required so was pleased about that and have set myself targets and deadlines for work this week so I had better get started. A new book that I ordered arrived this morning, Penelope Hobhouse's 'The story of Gardening' how I wish I had had this book two weeks ago it is so informative, I could have saved myself hours on the internet for this project. Jamie was right when he said it's a big learning curve this year, in more ways than one!!!
